The Floral Artistry of Mary Baum
A Word From Mary
My first exposure to floral design started 35 years ago when I learned the trade at my grandmother’s knee. My grandmother, a florist herself, inspired the passion to create beautiful arrangements, and that passion motivates me to this very day. Since then I have had the opportunity to work extensively with artificial flowers. This experience was in part what encouraged me to pursue the development of The Silk Canopy – that, and the cost of my daughter’s braces!
In recent years, vast improvements made in the manufacturing process has led to the development of artificial flowers that rival the look and feel of their fresh counterparts. These are not your grandmother’s (or my grandmother’s!) silk flowers. In fact, most people are amazed when I reveal that what they’re looking at is artificial. They instinctively feel compelled to touch or smell the flowers to substantiate my seemingly outrageous claim.
The term “Eternal Botanicals” is what I prefer to use to describe artificial flowers. It sounds a lot cooler…don’t you think? Actually, my website guys came up with the term. They’re pretty cool too. The designs on my website are a true expression of me and a personal commitment to give my clients the absolute best that I can offer. I’d like to leave you with one final thought. Always remember, that on your most special day, it’s not the food, the beautiful dress or even the stunning table arrangements that determine the success of your event. It’s the belief in your heart that tomorrow holds even MORE promise, MORE excitement and MORE love than today.
But it never hurts to have a little MORE BLING.
Enjoy, Mary
